Repeat Prescriptions

Important Information:

Repeat prescriptions are ordered on line to a system. Patients who wish to continue to order on line will need to collect a password and user i.d from the surgery please ask at reception and bring identification. 

If you have your new login details please use the link at the top of the page.

Please note that we do not email patients to tell them when their repeat prescriptions are ready for collection

We have improved our dispensary services by introducing a Managed Repeat System. When you are collecting your medications, you will be asked by the Dispenser to tick the medications you need for collection after 28 days on a specified date to your convenience.

Collection and Delivery of Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be collected from the Church Hill Surgery between 8.30am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. (Please note - dispensary is closed between 1pm and 2pm.) 

We also offer a  free delivery service to housebound patients

We require a minimum of 5 days from requesting a prescription to availability for collection (excluding weekends and bank holidays). 

Orders placed after 2pm will not be actioned until the following day. 

Mobile text messages will be sent once the medications are available for collection. ( please update your mobile numbers at the reception )

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Prescription (per item): £9.65
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
• 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

Church Hill Surgery are proud to be able to offer our housebound patients with a new free of charge Home Prescription Delivery Service. This service is available to all housebound patients only. Patients must ensure that they are at home when their prescription is delivered.
