Patient’s Rights & Responsibilities
Patients will be treated fairly, courteously and without discrimination in a safe, confidential environment. In turn it is expected they will be equally fair and courteous in their dealings with the surgery team.
Protecting and Using Patient Information
Patient identifiable information is given to other health and care professionals to enable continuity of care within the NHS. Most care could not take place without patient identifiable information accompanying it. It may be shared with the hospital and with community nurses and social workers working with the patient.
In addition to this, the Practice’s computer companies, drug companies doing trials, and the companies that do confidential data shredding are able to gain access to named data. All these organisations have an agreement with the Practice, which restricts severely the use they can make of this data and they are forbidden to use it for any purposes outside their contract.
If this is unacceptable to you please would you speak to your G.P. or the Practice Manager.
Practice Complaints Procedure
This Practice operates a complaints procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. Our system meets the National criteria. Our Practice complaints information sheet is available from reception or the Practice Manager. Our aim is to try and give you the best possible standard of service and we try to deal quickly with any problems that may occur.
We welcome any suggestions or ideas that would help us improve our service to you and you will find a suggestion box in the waiting room
